Good Luck 2010...
Originally I was going to post a longer 2009 summary. I would give the high’s and low’s of the past year. However, I have some dinner to cook and cleaning up to do so I’ll keep it short instead (if you’ve been following me then you probably know most of what has happened to me this year). Here’s my quick little summary of 2009:
It was an amazing year all around. I...
I love a good mystery...
This was found on my formspring:
Dear Matt, I’m quite pleased this is anonymous, because I have a proposition for you. (No, not a sexual one. Get your head out of the gutter, you perv) Basically, it’s very sensitive. But, it mostly has to do with pissing off a certain mutual friend a lot. IF you can figure out who I am, we’ll talk more.
Ms. Alessi is that you?
Apparently the fate of the world depends on my...
When making chocolate milk, do you stir clock-wise or counter clock-wise? If you don’t know the answer, please go make some and then report back here. This is really important, and the fate of the world may hang in the balance… I’m waiting.
Clockwise for sure. I’ll occasionally scrape the bottom and then continue to stir. It helps get all the milk or at least in my head it...

Row 5K
21:32 (PR)
Rowing long distances is pretty awful. If you’ve never done it you should. It’s a great workout and will really test you both physically and mentally.
For a warm-up I jump-roped for 2 minutes and did some light stretching. For a cash-out I did 15-12-9 of ring push-ups and ring rows in 6:50, both using a 20” box.
I took about a week and a...

Do you still wear Sugar Daddy boxers?
haha no those passed away years ago. What a very specific question though.
Ask me about my briefs or movies or whatever else you wanna know at:

Client: Can you un-blur the background on this photo?
Me: Unblur?
Client: Yeah, I want the whole image to be super sharp. I don’t particularly care for that whole deep field thing you keep telling me about.
Me: You mean depth of field?
Client: Yeah, whatever. Just unblur it.
Me: That’s impossible.
Client: I’ve seen it done on CSI.
Oh man I love this one.
Questions, questions, questions
When editing a video for CH, is it more important to get the “story” across, or to cram as many “jokes” in as possible…
Usually in a CH video the jokes and story go hand in hand. So for me the most important part of editing a video is getting the rhythm and pacing correct. As for a video in general, whether it’s more important to have a story or as many jokes...

In order to try and find what all the hoopla is about I set up a Formspring.
So go ahead and ask me questions and all that good stuff:

So what did everyone get this year? Whatever you can fit in 140 characters I’m curious. Favorite gift? Worst gift?

It’s a Wonderful Life | “You Want the Moon” Movie Clip
I finally saw “It’s A Wonderful Life” last night for the first time. I’ve obviously watched the famous scenes from it before, but not the entire thing. It was great. I’m surprised no one has sat me down and forced me to watch it. The movie basically screams, “Matt...
Seeing as Santa should be here soon I should head to bed. But before I do I’ll leave you with this final holiday treat. Back while I was a Junior at SVA a friend of mine asked me to help him with a project. Well, he basically handed me footage and said can you cut this together in an hour for my class. I said sure not knowing what to expect.
Well, I’m glad I agreed to do it because...
Here’s a little music video I edited not too long ago. It’s for the band Straight No Chaser. Seeing as it’s holiday themed I figured it’s an appropriate time to post it. Enjoy!

‘Expectations vs. Reality’ - a movie clip from “(500) Days of Summer,” directed by Marc Webb and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel.
One of the best scenes in this movie. In college I did something similar to this, however, Marc Webb executed it much better than I did. Humbling to say the least.
…also a challenge to the iPhone, making phone calls.

Snow In NYC
Here’s the deal with snow in NYC: It’s beautiful, it really is, but usually a few hours after it starts it turns the city into a big giant toilet. Seriously, once it gets warm enough that snow turns to slush and then gets muddy and it’s disgusting. Easily one of the worst things to ever have to walk around in.
With that being said, sometimes it happens to snow on a Saturday...

Deck Of Cards Circuit
Take a deck of 52 cards and select one workout for each suit. Shuffle the cards, flip the first card over and do that exercise. The number of reps is the number on the card. For instance if clubs were air squats then when you flip over the 5 of clubs you do 5 air squats. Jacks count as 11, Queens as 12, Kings as 13, and Aces as 14. You’re finished...

Back Squat 3-3-3-3-3 reps
205-225-235-225-225
My form was super ugly on these so I stayed around 225. I should have probably went even lower. Some of these were just straight up ugly, though.

NYC 101
One of the first things you learn living in NYC is that when a subway pulls up and there is an empty car that is sandwiched between two completely packed cars you DO NOT get in that empty car. There are three possible reasons for that empty car:
1) The car’s air conditioner/heater is broken.
2) Someone threw up/went to the bathroom on the car.
3) There is a very smelly and/or dangerous...

“End of the World Parody,” directed by me. Also written by Jeff, produced by Ben, shot by Vince, and edited by Mike Schaubach, with special effects by Gloo and a song by Carl Sondrol. Digg it.
I had always dreamed of doing a music video in the style of a news show, and Jeff’s parody about the alarmist nature...

Super pumped about this new show we’re doing.
It’s in your best interest to check it out.
This should be pretty awesome. If you’re in the city on 2/18 you should definitely go. Get tickets now before it sells out.
Goodnight
If you missed the all-nighter fear not all the videos are on collegehumor.com
Go check them out. You can watch one of my personal favorites here. If you don’t watch it ‘cause I like it you should at least watch it for Josh Ruben’s amazing Alan Rickman impression. Seriously it’s flawless. Also watch it if you like Die Hard…or comedy.
Okay seriously I’m shot,...
While you guys were all catching up on some sleep I was shooting funny videos for the internet starring…The Internet! aka the very talented Chris Gethard of Asssscat 3000 fame. This video I think came out really well. There are a few others that are still being released that are awesome as well. Everyone here at CollegeHumor did an awesome job tonight. Somehow we’re all still awake.

Why zombies aren't awesome →
“After 7 to 10 days, everyone was dead or undead,” he says. He tried several counterattacks. Quarantining the zombies didn’t work; it only bought a few extra days of survival for humanity. Even creating a “cure” for zombification led to a grim result. It was possible to save 10 to 15 percent of the population, but everyone else was a zombie. (The cure in his model...

I’ll be there AND sleeping!
Don’t forget tonight ALL NIGHT. I’ll be shooting and hopefully saying hi on the webcam every now and again. You should probably watch ‘cause I might not make it through the whole night alive so it could be your last chance to see me and my work.

Run 5K
23:43 (PR sort of)
First time running a timed 5k and I definitely ran this faster than I thought I would. I’m pretty excited at my time, however, it’s not as accurate as it should be considering the fact that I had to stop a lot due to traffic. I would stop my watch when doing so. This, of course, allowed me to catch my breath a bit, which leads to a...

Ever wonder what it’s like to make 14 videos overnight? We don’t ‘cause we’ve done it before and we’ll be doing it again.
